Colbert County took their opening drive of the second half in for a touchdown when Goodwin made a one-handed circus catch in the endzone for his second touchdown.  The final CCHS touchdown came on the next drive on a 26 yard pass from QB Ben Ezell to Jammorris Ricks.

CCHS 34,  Hazelwood 30.  The Indians came out hot in the first quarter and a half putting 21 points on the board.  But in the late second and early third quarters, Hazelwood put up 22 points to take a 22 to 21 lead.   Colbert County responded by driving down for a go ahead touchdown to make the score 27-22.

The Bears responded with a touchdown of their own to go back in front 30-27 in the forth quarter.  The indians then came back and put up yet another touchdown to make the score 34-30.

The Bears did manage to drive the ball down to around the CCHS 5 yard line  but with time running out the Indian defense stopped a sweep run by the HHS quarterback as the time ran out before the Bears could get off another play.  Final score 34-30.

This jamboree game may turn out to be one of the best game Colbert County plays this year. For those teams in 1A, look out for the Bears. They may have been down last year, but they may just be back and ready to win this year.

Roll Tribe. See you guys at the Muscle Shoals Game

August 25, 2006.

It's one hour before game time on Aug 25th.  The Hazelwood Golden Bears are coming to Leighton for the 2006 jamboree game.  I have been craving some football for nearly 9 months now and today I can satisfy my football fix.

After hearing about the Madison Academy kid who suffered the broken leg in Thursday nights game, my biggest hope for tonights jamboree is that no one gets hurt in the game.  Pray for the kid.

I can't wait to get to C.T. Manley tonight..   Are you ready for some Indian football?

  ROOOLLLL   TRIBE.

July 27, 2006

I recently got the call to renew my ad in the CCHS football program. That can only mean one thing. The time for CCHS football is coming around soon.  While the Indians did lose several key seniors from the 2005 team including Jemarcus Ricks, A.J. King and Mike Peters,  they are returning several underclassmen from last year's team.

I can't wait until August 25th jamboree game against Hazelwood and the season opener at home against traditional season opener Muscle Shoals.

By the way, my ad is paid for and ready for publication.
